Full view 'em!

Recently, in the Ashachu Club on the Bulbagarden forums, there's been some discussion of a manga adaptation of the Hocus Pokemon episode, drawn by Takashi Teshirogi. That got me to thinking...if some of the other Pokémon manga artists were to ever draw Ashachu, how might he look? Let's just say I saw the oppurtunity and ran with it.

And now...the sad and the just plain fugly.

On the left is Ashachu drawn in the style of Kosaku Anakubo, artist of the manga Pokemon Pocket Monsters (commonly referred to as "that scary Clefairy manga"). Anakubo's style is, well...different. Actually, it's pretty ugly, especially in the earlier volumes (he does improve a bit with time), and Ashachu in his style just looks weird, lol. Sorta cute, like a gangly puppy, but mostly ugly.

On the right is Ashachu drawn in the style of Toshiro Ono, artist of the manga Dengenki Pikachu. Ono's actually my favorite out of all the Pokemon manga artists, and his style is the closest to mine out of the five I drew like (you won't be seeing the Mato-style Ashachu, though. He fails quite epicly). He tends to draw pokemon with more realistic body porportions (like me! lol ), and while many of his Pikachu-based drawings are indeed adorable, I went for a sadder, more pensive look here.

So, scaryness and sadness. Whee!
